NSRP successfully hosted the Local Vendor Workshop

On July 4th, Nghi Son Refining and Petrochemical LLC (NSRP) organized a workshop to engage and develop local businesses and suppliers. The event was attended by Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee and Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee, as well as representatives from the Management Board of Nghi Son economic and industrial zones, the Provincial Business Association, and NSRP’s existing local suppliers.

In his opening remarks, NSRP General Director Mr. Kazutaka Yamato highlighted the company’s significant contributions since commencing operations. NSRP now meets nearly 40% of Vietnam’s petroleum demand, bolstering national energy security and generating substantial tax revenue for the local province. Mr. Yamato noted that NSRP currently collaborates with 652 local suppliers, 57 of which (over 8%) are based in Thanh Hoa province. He underscored the vital role these local partners play in NSRP’s sustainable development and expressed the desire to further increase local and Thanh Hoa-based supplier engagement.

In his remarks, Standing Vice Chairman of Thanh Hoa People’s Committee Mr. Nguyen Van Thi praised NSRP’s positive economic contributions to Thanh Hoa, particularly in attracting industry and supporting sector investments. He expressed delight that NSRP is proactively offering collaboration opportunities to local businesses, which is creating new supply chains and employment in the province.

He affirmed that the capabilities of local suppliers, including those from Thanh Hoa, have significantly improved in both quality and delivery times. He noted that engaging domestic suppliers can provide significant cost savings compared to foreign sources. To further facilitate local partnerships, Standing Vice Chairman Thi requested that NSRP publicly and transparently release information about its product and material needs, as well as the standards and conditions for Vietnamese businesses to participate in its supply chain.
