The Korea Energy Agency (KEA) announced on April 20 that it held a kick-off conference in Hanoi, Vietnam, for a project to improve the country’s energy efficiency and support its push for green growth.
The project is funded by the Korean government’s official development assistance (ODA). The Korea Energy Agency will help the Vietnamese government improve energy efficiency in the industrial sector and establish green growth action plans. For this project, it will cooperate with Vietnam’s Ministry of Industry and Trade (MOIT) and the Ministry of Planning and Investment (MPI).

Specifically, the agency will develop guidelines on energy diagnosis, feasibility studies, investment and loan support, energy efficiency technology, etc for the purpose of boosting energy efficiency in the industrial sector. It will also help the Vietnamese government produce climate investment reports, set guidelines on green growth and map out action plans and develop educational programs and invite training to strengthen the capabilities of public officials and experts at related institutions.
