On the afternoon of July 29th, 2022, the kick-off workshop of SSAS6 project was successfully organized in Mai Lam Ward’s People Committee of Nghi Son District, Thanh Hoa Province on the afternoon of July 29th, 2022.
The SSAS6 project will be implemented in 10 months (from July 2022 to April 2023) with the main activities as (i) provide agriculture technical consultant service for local community, (ii) organize 12 agriculture technical workshops for 6 villages of 3 project ward/communes, (iii) strengthen the operation and effectiveness of 6 LAGs of 6 villages, (iv) conduct 2 study tours for local community and (v) support to develop the agriculture initiatives of 3 ward/communes.
The workshop witnessed the participation of representative of NSRP Social & Community Section: Mr. Trinh Xuan Duc – Deputy Section Manager (S&C DSM) and project officers. The workshop was also attended by the project implementation partners: Mr. Le Ba Tuan – Representation of Center for Research Application and Transfer Science Technology (RASTC) – Hong Duc University, representatives of local authorities : Mr. Vu Trong Nam – Deputy Head of Economic Department – Nghi Son District People’s Committee, Mr. Le Van Hoc – Deputy Director of Nghi Son District Agricultural Service Center, and representatives of related organizations participating in the project, authorities of Hai Yen, Tinh Hai, Mai Lam communes/wards.
Mr. Le Ngoc Huy – Social & Community Leader, speaking at the opening of the Workshop: “In 2021, despite the difficulties of Covid-19 condition, the Agribusiness Support Projects 5 (SSAS5) had been successfully implemented and highly appreciated by the community and local. In order to maintain these positive results, NSRP will continue to fund the implementation of SSAS6 project in the neighboring areas with the goal of supporting to improve agricultural production efficiency to increase local people’s income and hope that SSAS6 project will be implemented properly and effectively”.
Mr. Le Ba Tuan – Representative of the project implementation partners delivered an overview of the project’s content, objectives, and tasks at the workshop. Furthermore, the delegates actively and excitedly discussed the contents of developing typical agricultural models fit for each locality, existing forms of agricultural activities, and the strategy to organize human resources to support the project implementation.
“We hope that RASTC will conduct surveys to understand the real needs of the local people in the project area, then focus on improving knowledge for them, especially about husbandry techniques, because he found that the husbandry techniques of local people in the project area are quite poor. We are always ready to coordinate with NSRP and related organizations to implement project activities to achieve the best results.” – Mr. Vu Trong Nam, Deputy Head of Economic Department, Nghi Son District shared.
At the end of the workshop, representatives of the project participants completely agreed with the presented and discussed contents and affirmed to work closely with NSRP and other stakeholders in the project’s implementation. Especially, RASTC, as the project implementation partner committed to properly implement the project’s activities with the best quality within agreed the time frame and budget.
