PVN and TKIS (India) discussed to cooperate in developing the later stages of the oil and gas industry

On the occasion of accompanying National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue to pay an official visit to the Republic of India, on the afternoon of December 16, 2021, Mr. Le Manh Hung – CEO of Vietnam Oil and Gas Group (PVN) had a meeting with Mr. Rajesh Kamath – CEO of Thyssenkrupp Group, India branch (Thyssenkrupp Industrial Solutions – TKIS).

Overview of the working session between PVN and TKIS

Opening the meeting, Mr. Le Cu Tan – CEO of PetroVietnam Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation (PVFCCo) reported about NPK project with the first European chemical technology in Vietnam. The main contractor of this project is Thyssenkrupp, the one in TKIS – PTSC contractor Joint Venture, who successfully completed EPC package of the NPK project at August/2018. In 2021, NPK fertilizer factory has been operated at designed capacity and started to make a profit.

According to Mr. Tan, up today, between the sides there are still some small points that need to be agreed to complete the project balance sheet as soon as possible. Mr. Rajesh Kamath a TKIS representative also highly appreciated the cooperation of the investor (PVFCCo) and PTSC joint-venture contractor in the project implementation process with successful results, and committed to soon agree with PTSC viewpoint for completing project balance sheet with PVFCCo.

PVN CEO Mr. Le Manh Hung proposed the sides to complete the balance sheet of NPK project in the first quarter of 2022. Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung also gave a preliminary introduction about the main activities and programs of Vietnam Petroleum Industry coming time, especially upgrading oil refining products, developing petrochemical products, diversifying fertilizers, chemicals, fibers and energy transition, the fields Thyssenkrupp has many experience and capacity.

At the meeting, TKIS representative presented its key activities and capacity documents (project consultancy, design, construction, operation and management) in the fields of petrochemical refining technology, fertilizers, fibers and green energy with leading projects in the world by both the scale and technology. At the end, both sides agreed to rapidly deploy cooperation opportunities and study to found a joint working group for realizing the policies of the sides.
